Prof. Dr Nguyen Quy Thanh stated during the opening session that the Science & Training Council meeting was held to discuss issues concerning science, technology, and training in the current context. Members of the Council will meet to discuss, contribute ideas, and advise the University of Education on how to develop more sustainably in the fields of science, technology, and training.
Prof. Dr Nguyen Quy Thanh also clarified that the Science & Training Council will continue to implement the Council's ideas and recommendations from the previous term, as well as maintain and promote its pioneering role in the field of educational science and pedagogy.
Following the final report, the members of the Council presented their reports. Dr Pham Hung Hiep, Research Director of Edlab Asia Education Research and Development Center and member of the Science and Training Council, delivered a report on educational science research in Vietnam from 1966 to 2020.
Dr Pham Hung Hiep reported an overview of publications by Vietnamese researchers in the field of educational science in the period 1966-2020 such as Publication trends; international cooperation networks; main research topics; new research trends… According to research, the first publications began to appear in 1966, but the growth rate remained slow. In the last five years, both quality and quantity have increased rapidly. The majority of publications appear in reputable journals. International research collaboration is growing. The research topic is in line with the global interest in trends. Mainstream research units emerge, as do influential researchers. The author has also made recommendations and forecasts for future research trends in educational science based on that conclusion.
Concerning the issue of majors/specialities being trained by educational universities around the world at the undergraduate and graduate levels, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thanh Nam used university rankings from US News, QS, and THE, as well as expert assessment, to select the best educational universities in 2022 in various sectors: English language blocks such as the United States and Australia, French language blocks (some European countries), and Chinese language blocks (Taiwan case study) are used to create a picture of undergraduate and postgraduate training majors/specialities universities around the world. As a result, industries/specialities that Vietnam can refer to for development in the next 5-10 years have been identified.

Based on the discussion opinions of the council members, the meeting of the Science & Training Council for the term 2022-2027 of the University of Education approved many important contents, contributions and development of the University of Education. schools in the fields of science, technology and training.
At the end of the session, Prof. Dr Nguyen Quy Thanh, Chairman of the Science & Training Council of the University of Education, summarized the council members' exchange of ideas, suggestions, and advice, and provided some directions for scientific and technological development. The development focus is on the following areas: training and retraining programs; training management organizations; quality assurance; science and technology tasks and policies to support and reward; strengthening project implementation at all levels of ministries, branches, and localities; digital conversion; and maintaining and promoting strong research groups. This is an important foundation for the University's direction in scientific and training activities in the coming school year in order to meet the goals and plans established.
